About this deal

And then more big cats arrive and out narrator begins to regret their decision, deciding that perhaps collecting cats isn’t for them! It’s only a short little story/picture book with about a sentence on each page, so don’t expect it to be a long read.

I also have to do impressions for all the mice, and cats, she points to each one, she likes the pictures, and thinks the cats are ‘playing’ with the mice. She is passionate about the benefits of drawing and painting, and believes that everybody has the ability to create art. There’s a huge variety there, and then such a rich suggestion of places to go about finding your prey?Your selection was perfect for our children and what really made the difference was your ability to engage with each child, discuss their interests and help them to choose a suitable book based on your extensive knowledge of the books you were selling. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. Younger readers will be charmed and delighted by the crazy antics and will enjoy poring over the book spotting all feline fun bursting out of the pages.

I was at my last school for 4 years and we had ********* book fairs every term – and every term, I was disappointed by the narrow range of books. Incredibly detailed and intricate illustrations mixed with an hilarious story make this book a joy to behold. My son and daughter love picking out all the different animals on each page, with the brilliant detail of each unique (and often funny! and it doesn’t take long for the ruse to bear fruit, or should that be cats, a dozen of them to be precise – some fluffy, some spotty, some fat and the remainder, thin. There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors.I first came across Lorna Scobie as the illustrator of Smriti Prasadam-Halls’ Pairs board books and Nicola Davies’ The Variety of Life, so it’s great to see her first solo picture book. This is a purrfect story for cat lovers everywhere with it’s celebrations of cats with all their different and endearing personalities.

There is loads of detail to explore in the pictures, particularly on the spreads filled with mice and cats of all varieties! By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.Dad (old enough to know better) and Daughter (young enough to be a smarty pants) still love books even though our blog has quietly retired now. If you love cats and wish to become a collector of same, then you’d be wise not to emulate the narrator of Lorna Scobie’s debut picture book. Tonight’s book choice is one that T was drawn immediately too on our most recent library visit (thanks mainly to the epic front cover) – Collecting Cats by Lorna Scobie. I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly! They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated!

It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first.
